The bakery traces its roots in the rural community of West Wales and is truly founded on original recipes and traditional baking methods, typical of 'farmhouse' cooking many years ago. We are a forward-looking company too, and we continue to invest in developing new and innovative cakes and flavour combinations – such as our Sultana, Carrot & Orange Cake developed in-house by Nia Williams as part of her Foundation Degree in Food Science & Technology at Cardiff Metropolitan University, under a sponsorship scheme for those working in the food industry in Wales.

We have now been in business for over 20 years, and continue to grow our market share. In fact, our traditional Welsh Bara Brith is now the best selling Bara Brith in Wales. With an efficient business model, we are able to supply local and National retailers and wholesale distributors with our product range to meet your needs.

Our skilled and dedicated staff are employed from the local community and are fully qualified in Food Hygiene, as well as benefitting from our staff-focussed drive as Investors in People.

In April 2007 Welsh Cottage Cakes moved to our current modern premises in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire. The factory is ideally suited for food production, and is equipped with the latest production and packaging machinery to meet the demands of our local and UK-wide multiple retailers and wholesalers.

Welsh Cottage Cakes is a keen supporter of our local community and take pride in our role as a valued local employer. We are also very proud to have achieved Investors in People accreditation in 2013, and we're continually building on the skills of our staff at all levels, to exceed the expectation of our business partners and customers alike.

Locally around Llandeilo, we also play an active role in a number of projects, including the 'Safety Watch supporters club' and 'The Children's Research Fund'.  We also sponsor Llandeilo Choir, Llansawel Rugby Club, as well as local agricultural shows and community events.
